Crane Operator Classes Tempe - For the supervisors and the operators, new and current, the crane operator training course is suitable for all. Course content addresses applicable state, federal and provincial safety regulations. The first component of training involves comprehensive in-class lessons and test. Following that is a customized hands-on session with practical instruction and evaluation.

Course content applies to all categories and types of overhead lifting machinery. Specific instruction would concentrate on aspects of crane operation utilized at the trainee's workplace. Upon completing the course, trainees will learn how to operate particular overhead lifting equipment, related components and attachments safely and efficiently.

The purpose of the operator course is to identify any potentially dangerous habits which an operator could develop while operating an overhead crane. Costly damage to equipment and products can be avoided with right habits. Training reduces the likelihood of a workplace injury or incident happening.

The course will encompass about eight hours of classroom instruction with a couple of hours of customized, on-site, hands-on training. Participants are graded on their understanding of training material through written tests and an evaluation of their practical knowledge. The minimum acceptable score is 80%.

The in-class session, the trainee will be taught regarding causes of damages and occurrences, guidelines and legislation, internal responsibility, hazard awareness, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, design principles and basic equipment, pre-shift equipment inspections, safe hoisting/operating techniques, equipment applications/rigging, types of hardware, hitches and angles, pedestrian/operator safety, hand signals for operators and slingers, flipping/turning loads safely.

The customized practical training and evaluation session should be pre-scheduled. It will be held at the trainees' facility after completion of the in-class session. The length of this practical training component is one to two hours. Two operators at a time would be trained by the instructor on skills like for instance safe operation, planning the lift and right rigging practices.

After completing both the in-class instruction and the practical training and evaluation, the trainee will be tested via an exam. Each participant would be required to sign the safety rules. Trainees who are successful would be provided with individual wallet certificates. A framed wall certificate will be provided to the company.
